Long story short, Ryan came to move his bike when he saw us and he was nice enough to try and maneuver my car out of the lot but there was just no way. Finally the people who were parked illegally came. When I asked them to move, I got attitude from them. It was pretty upsetting. Because of the way we were angled while trying to get out of the parking lot, I knew there was no way I could back up the van. I didn't know how long Ryan was going to be so I asked my sister to try and move my car. We discovered that she is just as bad as I am at backing up and ended up leaving part of my paint job on the pole. She felt so bad. I didn't even care. That's how tired I was.
We finally made it back to the hotel room, showed A-Boo Boo all the autographs we got and the video of Robert and we all cried a lot more. It was a very emotional night on many levels. We just hoped the next morning A-Boo Boo would be better and that nobody else would get sick.
One thing we didn't know when we agreed to take over Lisa from Utah's room for the night was that she had a room with just one queen bed. Not a big deal for women who had just spent a night sleeping on concrete but we did feel bad about having five in a room meant for two. We got out the blankets and sleeping bags again, no easy feat, trying to sneak all that past the hotel desk clerk. I was a nervous wreck waiting for him to ask how many we had in our party. Not that I would have minded paying more but I knew if he asked they wouldn't have let us have the room because there were so many of us and they had no other rooms available. The whole reason why we didn't book one for ourselves. J and A-Boo Boo slept in the bed, R, C and I slept on the floor.
When we woke up the next morning, A-Boo Boo felt fine. R, not so hot. We still had one more event to get through. We headed over to the mall at Hollywood and Highland Ave for the Hot Topic Twilight Tour. I wasn't going to partake in this event so I was hoping to find some nice shady spot where I could drink coffee and relax while they all waited in line. R was feeling worse and worse as the morning wore on so I wasn't sure what we were going to do if she was going to be like A-Boo Boo had been like the day before. We didn't have the luxury of having a hotel room this time.
I did my best to keep her cool and hydrated while standing inside the fenced off area where Paramore was going to perform. I was trying to stay as close to her as I could while standing on the other side of the fence. There was a security guard who was keeping people away from the fence and I knew it was only a matter of time until he made me move like everyone else. When he finally did come up to me I decided to tell him what I was doing before he had a chance to tell me to leave. I explained to him that my daughter was inside the fence and was not feeling well. I was hoping to stay close so that I could keep getting her ice and water as she needed it. He was so nice and let me stay where I was, even though he made everyone else leave the area. He said he would tell a supervisor what was going on so that nobody would make me move.
The next thing I knew, a man came up to me and introduced himself as the supervisor of the event. I wasn't intending to make a big deal out of R being sick, I just wanted to stay close. She was with her Aunts so my only concern was that I would be able to keep bringing her water. She was nowhere near as bad as A-Boo Boo had been, just feeling a little unsteady and weak. The supervisor had me point her out because he wanted to talk to her. So, here she is, with J, standing in this crowd of kids and this guy tells her that because she is not feeling well he has assigned one of his people to keep on eye on her from up on the stage. He said that if she started feeling like she was going to need help all she had to do was signal him and he would get her out of the crowd right away. Oh lordy, was I getting the evil eye from R after that. She was SO embarrassed! J said that when the guy was talking to R, everyone turned around to see what was going on. Even though R was mad at me for making her the center of attention, I was grateful for their concern. Once the sun went down and it cooled off, she felt much better. I was able to stand off to the side where I could at least hear what was happening and keep a close eye on her.
R's own personal security guard
The girls got to see Paramore. Cool. They got to be a part of a Q&A session with five of the cast members, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone and Taylor Lautner. Very cool. Then they got in line and got to meet the same cast members and get autographs. Way way cool. It was nice that A-Boo Boo was feeling better so that she was able to see some of the cast herself and get a poster autographed. Also nice was that Kristen Stewart, who was not a part of the meet and greet, came on stage and talked for a little bit before introducing Paramore. This event was way more organized than the ones that had been previously held by Hot Topic. Wrist bands were sold ahead of time so that there was no mob scene. On the day of the event, if you had a band you got in, if you didn't, there was no reason to get in line.
After the Hot Topic event we were done. We piled back in the van and headed back to C's house. On the way home J started getting sick. I am guessing that what we had been afflicted with was some type of 24 hour bug. I am just glad that I didn't get it. We didn't even unpack. We just slept in the clothes we had on and got up the next morning and left, without showering or changing. J had to be to work by ten, the kids had to be to school as soon as we could get them there. Traffic was murder and even though we left at 6:30am we didn't even get out of LA until 9:30. We made it home two hours late.
All in all, it was quite the experience. We met some really nice people. For the most part we had a good time. We have since learned that New Moon is going to be made into a movie so everyone is talking about another premier. I told them all, NO WAY! If I didn't learn my lesson after Pirates, then this time for SURE I did.
I hope.
