The I have internet again update

I've been internetless for the past four days.

The modem took a dump on Monday. I don't know if it was some sort of power surge or what. Three of R's friends also reported loss of internet at the same time and when I called AT&T, I was told that I was his 8th call in a row with a modem problem from this same area. Sounds fishy. I had to purchase a new modem because mine was as old as dirt.

So to catch everyone up...

Yes, we DID go see Twilight again for R's birthday on Sunday. Mom finally got to go see it, what she could see of it anyway. RP and big movie screens, not a good mix. The Swan and her daughter went with us to see it for the first time. Probably the last time too, she thought it was scary. I don't see that one. Whether you like it or hate it, the one thing its not is scary! It did make her want to read the books though. We'll probably go see it again this weekend. One last time. J is having Twilight withdrawals. Of course, that's what J said the last time we went to see it. That was going to be the last time. I guess we will keep seeing it until it stops showing in Bear Town, which should be soon.

We had spaghetti for dinner Monday night. That was the best dinner EVER! Spaghetti, french bread and salad. Why? Because IT WASN'T TURKEY!!

I did my last stint as BabyDsitter for this semester. I would be lying if I said I wasn't relieved. I love that baby to death, BUT, I have a very hard time when I am alone with him. I actually had him two days last week. Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday is DIL's long day, 10 hours. If Hubby had not stayed home from work to help me, I would have never made it. Its so frustrating. I have taken care of babies before, I had three of my own but this boy, boy oh boy. He is a stinker! I don't know why, I guess because he is so used to be with either Mom or Dad almost ALL the time that when he is away from them he cries. And cries. And cries. He gets himself so worked up, he wont eat, he wont sleep, the only way to calm him is to take him for a car ride. Thank goodness the price of gas has come down! We did figure out that he LOVES cartoons, even at 4 months.

Gpa D and Baby D, watching cartoons

It was a full time job for both Hubby and I to keep him distracted. By 4:30 he was done being distracted and was screaming full lung capacity. I was trying to cook dinner so Hubby took over and Andy and I drove him around until Mom came home. Starting next semester I will have him two to four days a week. He has to grow out of this soon. I hope. He is still a cutie though. What can I say?

Andy is now officially laid off for the season. He will get one more check and then its back to unemployment, which wont be much because he started so late this year. He interviewed for a job with Carmel city fire department. He was in the top picks but didn't get the job. He had another interview last week with the county fire department here. That is the job he really wants. Just like with Carmel though, three jobs open, 12 candidates. I am hoping that since he has already had a lot of history with the county, he might have a better shot at this one.

I got a call from my sister a few nights ago telling me that my daughter was in OK magazine. I went to the grocery store the next morning and sure enough, there she was, page 35. Oh, and you will just never guess what she was doing. My 16 year old daughter, holding up a sign for all to see that says, "Bite Me". Any mother would be proud. ::sigh::

That wasn't even her sign. The girls behind her had brought it and told her she could hold it since she was in front. OK Magazine changes weekly and by that same night, they had already put the next weeks issue out on the stands but if you happen to have the copy from Dec. 8th with Reese Witherspoon on the cover, check out page 35 and also page 29. There is a picture of Jennie Garth and her Hubby Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen. Behind Jennie you can see my sister C and behind Peter you can see R again. This is just so funny! Its never ending. R is in People too. She isn't hold up the Kiss Me sign though even though it looks like she is. Oh, oh and that is MY ARM right next to her!!

Its finally turned cold around here and we are back in winter mode. Sixteen blankets on the bed, frozen shampoo in the shower, coats worn inside the house during the day, gloves and hats worn to bed at night and a $700 a month PG&E bill in spite of the fact that we freeze 24/7. I really hate my house. You know its bad when you are warmer outside than inside. December, January, July and August. The four worst months living in a house with little to no insulation. "We really should do something about this", she said, after living in the house for 11 years now.
